Your Nokia 6030 phone uses a SIM card that provides access to your
wireless service. A SIM card allows you to transfer your service to a
compatible mobile phone and maintain access to the information
stored on your SIM card, such as contact information.

Install the SIM card and battery
  1. With the back of the phone facing you, remove the battery cover (fig. 2.1).
  2. Open the SIM card door by pressing the release button and lifting the door up (fig. 2.2a).
  3. Place the SIM card into the card slot with the gold-colored contacts facing down (fig. 2.2b).
    Tip! Use the beveled edge as a guide for installation.
  4. Snap the SIM card door into place.
  5. Align the gold-colored contacts of the battery with the battery compartment
    contacts (fig. 2.3a). 
  6. Slide the battery into the slot, gold-colored contact side first. 
  7. When the contacts meet, press the battery into place (fig. 2.3b).
  8. Slide and lock the back cover into place.

Charge the battery
  1. Plug the Nokia ACP-12U charger into a standard AC wall outlet.
  2. Connect the charger cable to the bottom of the Nokia 6030 phone (fig.2.4). 
    NOTE:  Allow the battery to fully charge before using your Nokia 6030 phone. 
    After your phone is fully charged, turn it on. You will be prompted to set 
    the time and date.

Power key 
Press and hold to turn the phone on or off.
Press and release to change profiles.

Call key 
Dials a phone number or answers a call. 
From the standby mode, press once to access your 
recently dialed numbers or press twice to redial.

End key
Ends the active call or exits from any function.

Right and left selection keys
Press to activate the menu option shown above each key. 
From the standby mode, these keys act as customizable 
shortcuts to your most commonly used features. 

4-way navigation key with center selection key
From the standby mode, use the 4-way navigation 
or center selection key for instant access to:

The Nokia 6030 phone has the contact management features you need to stay in touch. 
Store up to 500 contacts in the phone book and set up to 8 numbers with 1-touch dialing.

Create and save a contact
  1. Press the scroll key down to access Names (fig. 3.1). (       )
  2. Press Options. (       )
  3. Scroll to and select Add new contact (fig. 3.2). (       ) (       ) 
  4. Enter the contact name and press OK. (       )
  5. Enter the contact phone number and press OK. (       )
    Tip! To add more information to the contact, select Options > Add detail.

1-touch dialing
Assign a speed dial number to your frequent contacts and call the number with
the press of a button. Once assigned, press and hold the corresponding number
until dialing begins.

Assign 1-touch dialing to a contact
  1. Press Menu. (       )
  2. Scroll to and select Phonebook (fig. 3.3). (       ) (       )
  3. Scroll to and select 1-touch dialing (fig. 3.4).  (       ) (       )
  4. Scroll to highlight an (empty) speed dial number. (       )
  5. Press Assign. (       )
  6. Press Find. (       )
  7. Scroll to highlight contact and press Select. (       ) (       )
    NOTE: If 1-touch dialing is not active, you will be prompted to activate it.
    Press Yes to activate it.
